Let's Talk About Fashion

Quote:I'm looking to buy a nice winter jacket, willing to spend in the $200-$500 range if it looks cool.

I want something vaguely similar to the military peacoat style minus the length. I don't want one that goes down so far to my knees. And not the puffy plastic liner coats.
Schott makes (or used to make) peacoats for the US Navy. I had one in gray, and it looks just like the one I was issued but never used (Hawaii). The Slim Peacoat (Schott 751) is probably what you’re looking for.
After talking to a young lady for a while, she told me “Even though your skin is black, I can tell your heart is white.”

I noticed that most raincoats I find look too 'childish' and don't really give a good impression. Do you guys have any ideas of raincoats which can look manly? I don't need specific brands...the cheaper the better for me. Thanks

I own a derivative of this in olive green, mine has a zipper as opposed to buttons. It is a variation on the iconic US military "fishtail" parka. Which means that the jacket has a fishtail, which is very "mod" a la 1950's/ 60's.

I've gotten too many compliments about it from girls to count. I also get mistaken as being military given my affinity for olive green and my buzz cut.

I forget what I paid for it two years ago, but it was about 150 or 200 usd. It's my favorite purchase.

Herschel supply co is a hipster company (famous for the hipster backpacks) but they make some good shit.

Are there any niche brands or high end boutique brands I could find something similar to this? https://www.wantdo.com/products/mens-woo...6676878922

To be a bit pedantic, the knee-length coat is actually a bridge coat:

A pea coat is shorter, it goes down to the fingertips or thereabouts:

Both do indeed have a naval pedigree.
